Super Bowl ‘Selfie Kid’ explains how his viral Justin Timberlake moment almost didn’t happen
Ryan McKenna, the 13-year-old who will now be known on the Internet as Selfie Kid after he snapped a shot with Justin Timberlake in the middle of the Super Bowl LII halftime show, had a great explanation as to why he was staring at his phone during the performance.
Here’s what he told Good Morning America on Monday: “I had a video going and my phone shut off, that’s why I was on my phone … I love him, he’s my favorite singer, I had to get a selfie with him”.
Luckily, it all worked out, and now McKenna is famous.
