Justin Timberlake Still Refuses to Dress His Age

Earlier this summer we spotted Justin Timberlake looking a lot like Robert Pattinson, down to the rolled beanie and small round sunglasses. Then last week Timberlake conjured an even younger bachelor with this style: Justin Bieber. The 36-year-old singer celebrated some mild weather in New York City on Friday by wearing baggy, distressed jeans and an oversized Stella McCartney cardigan. The ‘fit was textbook Bieber, equal parts DGAF and “look at me! look at me!” with touch of rich toddler thrown in for good measure.

The thing that makes Timberlake’s recent young-gun style moves sort of interesting is that, pretty much from the moment he broke off from boy-band ‘N Sync, he’s been dressing conservatively for his age. Timberlake is known for his love of vests, flat caps, and button-down shirts worn under sweaters (sometimes with a flat cap). He wears blazers when he doesn’t have to. He loves brown. Basically, Timberlake has been “dad” since Justin Bieber was in diapers. And now, right when the guy is actually a dad, and closer to 40 than he is 30, he decides to start dressing like a kid. It’s a role reversal we weren’t expecting from a person with a hit called “Suit & Tie” and one that, tbh, we aren’t mad at.

For one, living in a world where dads dress like teens and teens dress like dads sounds fun AF. For another, Timberlake looks cozy, cool, and relaxed in a great way. Assuming he continues to be a formalwear heavy-hitter (the guy tuxes up like a true pro), we’d gladly embrace skater Justin Timberlake. Why not!
