Justin Timberlake Just Revealed the Swoon-Worthy Way He Proposed to Jessica Biel

It’s been a big week for Justin Timberlake. The singer-songwriter recently released his latest album, Man of the Woods, and pulled off a touchdown of a performance at Super Bowl LII in Minnesota on Sunday. But the pop star gives credit where it’s due: Timberlake recently revealed that the inspiration behind his latest album was his wife, Jessica Biel. And on top of that, over five years since their 2012 wedding, the star is finally sharing just how he proposed to his wife.

In an interview with Amazon Music, Timberlake confirms that he popped the question to Biel in Montana, which also just so happens to be the title of one of his singles. “It’s basically about being there with my wife”, the Man of the Woods singer said of the tune. “I proposed there, so it has a really special meaning”.

Timberlake further revealed some details of the intimate moment that he proposed, saying, “Without going into too much of a personal story, it started to really come together just talking about being in the mountains. When I did propose, I was saying to her, I was like, ‘Oh look at the shadows on the mountains’, and I had the ring on my pinkie–I guess I will just tell the story”. Yes please!

The singer continued, “I had the ring on my pinkie and I was like, ‘Look at the shadows over there on the mountains’, and she was like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s beautiful’, and I was like, ‘Do you see it?’ So it was something that inspired the lyrics for the bridge”.

In the bride of “Montana”, Timberlake sings, “Now I know it’s late o’clock / And we’ve been kissin’ for hours / When the moon wakes up the sun / And our shadows cast up on the mountains / It gives the stars somethin’ to watch”.

“For me, lyrically, the bridge is my favorite”, he told Amazon Music. “Maybe my favorite bridge on the album”. And now we know why!
