Levi's Music Project and Justin Timberlake return to his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee and partner with Stax Music Academy to create a new songwriting program for aspiring youth musicians.

Located in the historic neighborhood of South Memphis, also known as Soulsville, USA, Stax Music Academy provides year-round music education, performance, and leadership opportunities for Memphis area youth. Since opening in 2000, Stax Music Academy has impacted the lives of thousands of young musicians.

The new songwriting class is led by Stax alumni and prominent Memphis musicians inside The Song Lab, a music facility designed by Levi's and Justin Timberlake. Instruments, recording equipment, and production software were donated by Guitar Center, Native Instruments, Gibson, Korg, Shure, and Universal Audio.

THE SONG LAB

Stax Music Academy provides year-round music education, performance, and leadership opportunities for Memphis area youth. Since opening in 2000, the academy has impacted the lives of thousands of young musicians.

The new songwriting class is led by Stax alumni and prominent Memphis musicians inside The Song Lab, a music facility designed by Levi's and Justin Timberlake, who donated an additional USD100,000 to establish a scholarship fund that will help even more Memphis area youth take their music education to the next level.

That one hurt. I know first hand how music can impact the way kids learn... So I teamed up with @levis to launch the Levis Music Project — and open a songwriting class and a fully equipped studio space for the students of @staxmusicacademy in my hometown.
