‘Shrek 5’ Might Bring Back Justin Timberlake As Artie

There is little doubt that Shrek 5 is one of the most anticipated films in the near future. Fans are still hoping to revisit the ogre family in Far Far Away although it seems like Shrek’s story already had a proper ending. Luckily, there are still talks of a possible reboot featuring the original voice cast. But what are the chances that Justin Timberlake will return as Arthur ‘Artie’ Pendragon?

Justin Timberlake first joined the Dreamworks franchise in Shrek The Third where he provided the voice of Artie, one of the possible heirs to the kingdom of Far Far Away. Although fans were hoping that Artie would become a regular cast member in the following movie, the fourth Shrek film focused mostly on Shrek accidentally wishing his entire life away. However, there is hope that Timberlake will be back in Shrek 5. Is it time to check on Artie and how he’s leading the kingdom?

There have been reports that Shrek 5 will be a reboot of the entire franchise which includes the Puss In Boots spin-off film. Illumination founder Chris Melendari had been tasked with the revival, and he had revealed that he has every intention to bring back the original cast in the movie. Although this could mean Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, and Eddie Murphy, there is a huge possibility that the supporting cast will be brought back as well. With that in mind, fans are hoping that Justin Timberlake will return in the reboot.

So what could happen in the Shrek reboot? There are speculations that it will focus on Shrek and Fiona dealing with their teenaged children and needing the help of Donkey, and Puss In Boots. The family might end up returning to Far Far Away to ask Artie for help. However, it is important to point out that these are still based on theory and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Shrek 5 has not yet been officially confirmed. In the meantime, catch Justin Timberlake in Trolls World Tour, which is scheduled for release on April 17, 2020.
