In an unexpected turn of events, Justin Timberlake has left his publicist of 20 years to work with Sunshine Sachs, according to *Variety,* the same firm that represents none other than Janet Jackson. Timberlake is parting ways with M2M Construction, who he’s worked with since his boy-band days in ‘NSync.
According to Variety, Timberlake had previously worked with firm co-founder Ken Sunshine after the 2004 Super Bowl scandal where Timberlake accidentally ripped off part of Jackson’s top, briefly exposing her breast on live television. A few days later, Timberlake received an award at the Grammys, where he apologized for the incident, while Jackson was barred from attending the ceremony. For the next decade, Timberlake continued his career relatively unscathed while Jackson’s career slowed down significantly.
The controversy surrounding the 2004 Super Bowl was reignited when Timberlake was announced as this year’s halftime performer. Many speculated that Timberlake would extend an olive branch to Jackson and invite her to perform with him during the show, but both artists put the rumors to bed before the game.
Sunshine Sachs had no comment on their recent talent acquisition, though one thing is certain: their Christmas party is about to get a lot more interesting.
