It’s a new year, and Justin Timberlake’s vocal cord troubles are a thing of the past.
The pop superstar is fit and ready to restart his Man Of The Woods tour, having scrapping a stack of gigs last year due to a bruised vocal cords.
“First of all, Happy New Year. Hope everybody had a good holiday. Second of all, D.C. we here. We’re back. Can’t wait. Excited, ya’ll ready?” Timberlake says in a new clip, posted to Instagram. The message carries the caption, “And… we’re back. See you tomorrow DC! #MOTWTOUR”.
The jaunt came off the tracks in late October, when Timberlake nixed a show at Madison Square Garden in New York, explaining that “my vocal cords are severely bruised… I’m gonna make this up to you”. Other postponements followed and Justin Timberlake shared an update in early December, noting he was on the mend and that doctors had recommended he hold off on singing until January.
The Live Nation-produced tour will roll on Friday night at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and is extended until mid-April with a string of replacement dates now locked in.
Timberlake’s North America tour is in support of his fifth studio album, which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last February.
